Our Story
An elevated alternative to traditional flying clubs.
The club was created to offer an elevated alternative to traditional flying clubs and high-volume flight schools. It focuses on a defined, exclusive membership with only a limited number of positions available, a modern and well-supported Cirrus, and operating standards shaped by professional aviation experience.
Based at Quincy Regional Airport, the program centers on a Garmin Perspective-equipped Cirrus. The aircraft's modern avionics and the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) provide the combination of capability and safety that serious pilots value. An FAA-approved RealSim AATD is planned for the months following the initial launch.

Shelby L. Miller
Founder · Airline Captain · Certified Flight InstructorLiv River Aero Club was founded by Shelby L. Miller, an experienced airline captain with more than 12,000 total flight hours. He brings extensive professional operational experience together with a strong background in flight instruction.
Instruction at the club is delivered by the founder, bringing both professional operational discipline and certified flight instructor credentials to every lesson, with the same emphasis on discipline, communication, and risk management that defines professional flying.

Alison Miller
Co-Founder & President of Member ExperienceAlison Miller is Co-Founder and President of Member Experience at Liv River Aero Club. She holds a master's degree from the University of Illinois, bringing a strong academic foundation together with extensive professional experience in leadership, communication, and relationship management.
In her role, Alison is responsible for shaping the member experience and ensuring the club maintains the elevated standards of service, professionalism, and personal attention that define Liv River. Her background has developed exceptional skills in organizational leadership, clear communication, and building trusted relationships—qualities that support the club's commitment to an exclusive and carefully managed membership environment.
As a co-founder, Alison works closely with the leadership team to align operational excellence with a refined, high-touch member experience. Her focus is on creating a professional and welcoming atmosphere in which every member feels valued and supported, while upholding the safety, reliability, and exclusivity that are central to the club.
